Yashiro's team was created to offset the remaining top three characters. [3] Yashiro was modeled after a character in the anime, Combat Mecha Xabungle.
Personality
Yashiro leads a proud and confident life, exuding style and maintaining a "cool" personality. He believes himself to be both strong and stylish. However, his Heavenly King persona shines through in his music, which often explores dark themes like death and blood. In combat, his fiery and energetic nature comes to the forefront, displaying genuine excitement and aggressive enthusiasm. Despite his intensity, Yashiro is also pragmatic, recognizing worthy opponents and having a clear understanding of his own strengths and limitations.
During the events of The King of Fighters '97, Yashiro develops a deep hatred and grudge against Iori Yagami after being upstaged by him at one of his gigs. This grudge is further intensified by the fact that Iori is his natural enemy—something Yashiro either doesn’t know or simply doesn’t care about. In KOF XV, there are hints that he may be trying to move past this grudge, as seen in his special introduction with Iori. However, their rivalry is reignited, and after facing Iori, Yashiro remains vigilant, viewing him not only as a rival musician but also as an obstacle to Orochi’s revival.
When Yashiro was revived, he retained his Orochi heritage. Although he and the other Heavenly Kings still take their roles seriously, fulfilling Orochi’s plans isn’t their top priority in their current forms. Even so, Yashiro remains eager to see Orochi’s revival—but only under the right circumstances. He refuses to resort to underhanded tactics, having scoffed at schemes like manipulating Kyo and Yuki into quarreling.
