Wanhyou (ВАНГЁ（わんひょう）; Arm Hail) is one of Goenitz's Special Moves in the King of Fighters series, first appearing in The King of Fighters '96.

Description[]

Goenitz snaps his fingers and creates a barrage of curved blades of wind surrounding his hand to shred his opponent to bits one of two ways:

Wanhyou Tokobuse XV

Wanhyou Tokobuse (ВАНГЁ（わんひょう）ТОКОБУСЭ（とこぶせ）; Arm Hail Lasting Lay)
Goenitz aims the blades at hip-height.
Wanhyou Mametsu XV

Wanhyou Mametsu (ВАНГЁ（わんひょう）МАМЭЦУ（まめつ）; Arm Hail Grinding Perish)
Goenitz aims the blades just above his head.

The version of Wanhyou Tokobuse has Goenitz snap his fingers one more time to create one last blitz, launching the opponent.

In KOF '98 UM, the behavior of this move was changed. this move draws in the opponent and becomes something of an autocombo akin to the Zanretsuken, requiring only one hit to connect the entire move. It has reverted to its original behavior since then.

  • Should the moves be written in kanji, the attacks would respectively be (腕雹（わんひょう） 常伏（とこぶせ）) & (腕雹（わんひょう） 磨滅（とこぶせ）).
