Description[]

"Perform a jumping knee strike alongside a wild tiger. The REV version darts forward, hits the opponent up, then slams them down. Useful as an anti-air. You can brake the heavy and REV versions while jumping."
—Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

Joe jumps up and delivers a knee strike with his front leg, often shrouded with orange energy - in COTW, the energy takes on the shape of a tiger's head.

Also in COTW, the EX OK version has Joe charge forwards before going into the knee lift as normal - if it connects, he flips over to smack his opponent back to the ground with an Ougon no Kakato; additionally, both the Neo Geo D Button & EX OK versions can be broken by inputting Neo Geo A ButtonNeo Geo B Button or COTW REV Guard Icon upon the first hits.

Trivia[]

  • Tiger Kick appears to have inspired Sagat’s Tiger Knee from the Street Fighter series, which debuted in Street Fighter II: Champion Edition, released several months after Fatal Fury: King of Fighters, and used the same input. Both moves resemble a real Muay Thai technique called a Flying Knee.
