The King of Fighters AFK (ザ・キング・オブ・ファイターズAFK), officially abbreviated as KOF AFK, and known in Japan as The King of Fighters Dot Battle (ザ・キング・オブ・ファイターズ ドットバトル), is an upcoming mobile game developed by Netmarble Neo, published by Netmarble and authorized by SNK.

The new King of Fighters AFK is a character collection type AFK RPG using Japan's SNK's KOF IP. It is being developed by Netmarble Neo, which has extensive collaboration experience with SNK.
Netmarble explained that it has reinterpreted the luxury characters of past KOF series with dot graphics in the Neo Geo Pocket version 'The King of Fighters R-2', which was developed based on The King of Fighters 98.
Netmarble also opened the King of Fighters AFK official teaser site and YouTube channel, with the first teaser video revealed at the Tokyo Game Show 2024 on September 26.
An Early Access will be available exclusively in Canada and Thailand from 11:00 AM on November 27, 2024 to 8:00 AM on December 19, 2024.
Apple services indicated that the release date would be January 27, 2025. Despite this, the game was not released on this day and Apple services indicate a new date: Octobrr 29, 2025.
On April 17, 2025, Netmarble posted an image of The King of Fighters AFK on its social media channels announcing that the game would be released, after a period of no posts on its networks. However, a specific release date has not yet been revealed.
On April 22, 2025, Netmarble announced that early access for The King of Fighters AFK will soon return, with freebies including Li Xiangfei on day one, Momoko on day two, and Ryo Sakazaki on day three. Early access will be available in Canada, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
On April 24, 2025, Netmarble posted on The King of Fighters AFK's social media an image in celebration of the release of Fatal Fury: City of The Wolves on the same day, showing Terry, Mai and Tizoc in their Fatal Fury versions on the left, and their respective KOF AFK versions on the right.
