- According to pixel art supervisor Toyohisa Tanabe, after The King of Fighters '98 finished development, the team created a special developer version of KOF '98 where Ryu and Ken from the Street Fighter series, as well as Son Goku from the Dragon Ball series were added as playable characters. This version of the game was made on developer hardware, and a physical cartridge of this version does not exist. The developers also apparently made this build of the game just for fun, and is not planned to be made public.[1]
