Trivia[]
- The term Nilin/Gekirin (逆鱗), also meaning "imperial wrath", is based on the philosophy written in the Han Feizi where if a single scale on a benevolent Chinese dragon's chin is moved the wrong way, it will infuriate it in an instant to where with full fury will destroy the one responsible for such a deed.
- As a result, this ties into incurring the anger of one's superior no matter how friendly or composed they are, as Chinese rulers were often compared to that of the royalty of Chinese dragons. This philosophy also ties to other docile mythological beings in East Asian mythology that are known to be docile and benevolent, yet are easily enraged by specific provocations.
