Tecmo World Soccer '96 (テクモワールドサッカー '96) is a football game released in 1996 by Tecmo for the Neo Geo. It is Tecmo's only game released for the platform, and part of the Tecmo World Cup series.
Gameplay
The game takes place in the World Cup, with 32 national teams available for the player to choose. The tournament includes 7 games, divided into two groups of four teams and one final. Gameplay-wise the player can use a cross pass button to give a pass forward to a teammate, though the player cannot handle passes in the player's direction. Another mechanic is the ability to boost the player's speed through a dribble to reach the rival area and make a powerful shot.
