- With exception of Athena Asamiya and Sie Kensou (both from Psycho Soldier), all the other characters on this team are created exclusively for the KOF series.
- Due to being the protagonist of the source's series, Athena is the only character who has always been part of the team.
- This team isn't available in The King of Fighters 2003 and The King of Fighters XV.
- The absence in 2003 is due to Kensou and Chin were on training. As for the non-presence in the fifteenth entry, is clear that the motive is that Athena joining with Mai and Yuri in the Team Super Heroines.
- In The King of Fighters '94, this team was called Team China. However, unlike most Regional Teams in KOF '94, only 2 members of this team hailed from China (Sie Kensou and Chin Gentsai; Athena is Japanese).
- The King of Fighters XIV would later introduce the current formation of China Team, with the master Tung Fu Rue, from Fatal Fury series, and his latest disciples, Shun'ei and Meitenkun.
- With exception of Momoko (who practices Capoeira), all the other member of this team practices Kung Fu (and its variants).
