- The awakened versions of this team are counterparts of each member of the Japan Team (the Hero Team of the saga which both are inserted). Therefore:
- Orochi Yashiro is a counterpart for Goro Daimon;
- Orochi Shermie is a counterpart for Benimaru Nikaido;
- Orochi Chris is a counterpart for Kyo Kusanagi, although his flames are purple like Iori Yagami's (the flames of both characters has this color due to his connections with Orochi). Additionally, some of Orochi Chris' technique, Tsuki O Tsumu Hono also inspires K''s special move Crow Bite.
- Each character of the team has a different style in both versions. Therefore:
- Yashiro's fighting styles are based in offensive power and punches (Normal Version) and in grappling power (Awakened Version).
- Shermie's fighting styles are based in grappling power (Normal Version) and in electric power (Awakened Version).
- She is also the only member of the team who is capable of using her awakened Orochi powers in her normal form, at least in dream matches. Among other Hakkesshus, the other who can do so, particularly in canon, is Leona.
- Chris' fighting styles are based in speed power (Normal Version) and in fire power (Awakened Version).
- This team (and its awaken variant) is not available during the Ash Saga (KOF 2003-XIII).
- In the true story of The King of Fighters '97, this team acts as a rival for the Sacred Treasures Team.

- The 15th instalment is the only game in the KOF series which the two versions can be chosen in the same team, due to lore reasons.
- In The King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match, this team have special intros with the American Sports Team, the team that have their KOF invitations stolen by them in the '97 tournament.
- In The King of Fighters 2002, this team was called "KOF '98 Team", representing The King of Fighters '98 (although its members debuted in KOF '97). However, in the remake of the reffered game, the team returns to their original name.
