Team Athena (チームアテナ) is a reoccuring Team in The King of Fighters series.

Description

As the name implies, this team is formed by Athena Asamiya and some characters who have aligned with her. For the most games of the series, this team is also known as Team Psycho Soldier, with Sie Kensou (like her, a character coming from the game Psycho Soldier) and Chin Gentsai, martial arts master of both characters. Later on in the series, the team would receive the presence of Bao (during the NESTS Chronicles Saga) and Momoko (in The King of Fighters XI).

Starting from Tales of Ash Saga, Athena forms alternative iterations of Team Women Fighters, always led by her. The first is formed in The King of Fighters 2003, under the name High School Girls Team, with the sumo/high school student Hinako Shijo and the secret agent Malin, and the second is formed in The King of Fighters XV, with the kunoichi Mai Shiranui and the Kyokugenryu Karate student Yuri Sakazaki, under the name Super Heroines Team.
