Screw Upper (スクリューアッパー) is one of Joe Higashi's Super Special Moves used across the Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters series, first appearing in Fatal Fury 2.

Description[]
Joe sharply swings his rear arm up for an uppercut, which whips up a large tornado in front of him, hitting the opponent multiple times. In the vast majority of appearances, the tornado is red/orange.
The version is only one hit, but launches the opponent high before they crash back down to the ground.
Strategy[]
Especially as a SDM, this tornado will negate any and every projectile it encounters, save for some projectiles from boss characters.
In the unlikely event that Joe is hit out of this move while the tornado is spawned, the tornado remains active; Joe can open and nudge the enemy into the tornado which will remain active and hitting until it reaches the edge of the screen. It can instantly defeat the opponent if done correctly, as the tornado continuously inflicts damage without any hard limits!

- Despite its coloring, the tornado created by Screw Upper does not have any fire-based properties.
