- Hyakutaro Ichimonji in Metal Slug Awakening will rarely yell "Hadouken!" when shooting his ki blasts, as the idea of having him shooting these powers was mostly inspired by both him and Goku from the Dragon Ball franchise.
- Mr. Karate's ending in Neo Geo Battle Coliseum is a parody/homage to his ending from Street Fighter II.
