Ramón (ラモン) is a character from The King of Fighters series. He made his first appearance in The King of Fighters 2000 as a member of the year's Hero Team. He is a luchador who makes extensive use of high-flying, a well-known characteristic of Lucha Libre. His official nickname is "The Strongest Human" (
Development[]
He was created to appeal to the Latin American fanbase (more precisely the Mexican fanbase). His pro-wrestling moves were a primary focus during the development for his moves was due to his designer at the time loving pro-wrestling fighting moves.[1]
Personality[]
He is a very friendly guy that loves to play with children and flirt with girls. He seems to have an obsession for Vanessa and will often flirt with her. While his affections are sometimes discouraged, he nonetheless remains determined to woo her. During his fights, Ramón will often mock his opponents.
Fighting Style[]
Ramón is high-flyer luchador. He uses moves like the crossbodies, drop kicks, spinning heel kicks and suplexes.

- Ramón's moves and attacks are inspired by Tiger Mask (alias of Japanese wrestler Satoru Sayama).
- His tiger theme, as well as his moves such as his Super Special Move, Tiger Spin, allude to the anime character and real-life professional wrestler, Tiger Mask.
- His taunt is also based on Tiger Mask. The real-life Tiger Mask taunted British wrestler, The Dynamite Kid (alias of Thomas Billington), in the exact same way during the first of their legendary series of matches.
- The mask displayed in his KOF 2001 artwork is from the famous Mexican wrestler Blue Demon (alias of Alejandro Muñoz Moreno).
- Behind the back of his XIV/XV outfit reads "Camino De La Tigre", which means "Way of the Tiger" in Spanish. However the correct Spanish grammar for the phrase should be ''Camino Del Tigre''.
- In a 2005 poll made by SNK Playmore USA, he was voted as the ninth fan favorite character with 121 votes.
- Prior to The King of Fighters XV, his name was rendered as "Ramon" in English. Starting with KOF XV, the name was rendered as "Ramón", possibly done to be more in-line with the Spanish spelling and pronunciation of the name.
