"Die...forever!"
—Geese

Raimei Gouha Nage (雷鳴豪らいめいごう破投はな; Thunderclap Great Blast Throw) is one of Geese Howard's Command Moves in the King of Fighters series, first appearing in Real Bout Fatal Fury.

It is also sometimes listed as a Special Move instead, namely in The King of Fighters XIV & XV.

Description[]

Before a downed opponent, Geese swiftly grabs them from the floor clutching them at the neck. Standing up and holding the helpless opponent, Geese then viciously follows into an overhead judo slam charged with lightning, flexing into a stance right afterwards.

In most appearances, a lightning bolt follows the slam and the victim may or may not be shocked with electricity while being thrown. In the Real Bout series and the Maximum Impact games, a crashing wave of shattering lightning erupts from the slam akin to a water splash.

If Geese misses the followup in games where he is able to whiff the grab, he will cringe in frustration in failing to seize the opponent. In most games, it normally can't be performed without the victim being downed.

Strategy[]

Raimei Gouha Nage acts like a down/pursuit attack, being a follow up to ensure additional if minor damage to ensure the player's advantage. Despite the supposed width of Geese's grasp, a player must be in rather close to ensure the success of the throw's lead in, being at least "half a foot" near the opponent, thus demanding excellent space reading, especially if Raimei Gouha Nage is sought to end a combo at the cost of wake-up/oki outside of the corner (since the victim is sent away on top of Geese flexing afterwards). Nevertheless, Raimei Gouha Nage's recoil is negligible if missed.

Of some note, Raimei Gouha Nage is something of a vanity move and even an indicator for especially skilled Geese players. On Geese's end, especially for his appearances in Real Bout, the move establishes him as a penultimate boss character due to its brutal display of strength and merciless-ness. In said Real Bout games, Geese mainly in RB2 can kara/empty-cancel Raikou Mawashi Geri into the Gouha Nage from further-ranged knockdowns if Geese didn't happen to corner his foe.

So far, the only version of the throw that recovers fast enough without a stance-flex is the Maximum Impact 2 and Regulation 'A' version of the move done by Nightmare Geese, where if the throw sends the victim against a wall (via Geese himself getting cornered), he can act fast enough right on time to follow with another one before they get back up.
