Description[]

Terry jumps into the air with a knee strike, then he follows up with a diagonal downward punch. In games such as Garou, the animation involves Terry performs a spin before the punch.

In Garou, the move can be broken with on Hit.

Starting with The King of Fighters XV, Power Dunk gains an EX Special Move variant, which allows opponents to bounce off the ground when hit, allowing for juggles.

In Street Fighter 6, the move is relegated to a Target Combo ender, performed as a follow-up after Power Shoot.

In City of the Wolves, this move returns as a special move, however, not only is it the same as it was in Garou, but it has a REV Art version, in which Terry right after the spin, performs an angled Rising Tackle then ends it with the downward punch, which also makes opponents bounce of the ground for a combo.

Strategy[]

Power Dunk allows Terry a second option for an anti-air, and this time for countering lead ins at the apex of their jump or to punish failed antiairs. With a more unusual execution, its trajectory is akin to a trap to tangle unprepared foes; the sky climb in good to catch foes, before the punch downwards brings in a meaty or powerful hit. How it should be used is dependent on the game; Real Bout is more combo orientated and consistent, with a good lead in and execution speed and lack of recovery, while games that alter its height and execution speed by strength allow its antiair use more leverage.

The strength and distance of the move depends on which button is pressed. The version travels upwards a short distance speed, while the version travels much higher, at the cost of longer recovery time after performing the move. Some games have the version move much faster.
