Otoma=Raga, officially stylized as Otoma-Raga or Otoma Raga (オトマ・ラガ) is a character from The King of Fighters series. She is introduced in The King of Fighters XV as the game's main antagonist and final boss.

It is currently unknown who voices her.

Personality[]

Otoma=Raga speaks in a tongue that humans cannot understand, so it is hard to tell her true intentions. She is a dominating and tenacious figure, fueled by rage and the desires to escape from the void and kill anything in her way.

She has various symbols on her body, similar to those seen on Dolores' body.

According to Heidern's report in the edit team ending of KOF XV, Otoma=Raga is said to appear at the end of the world after its herald (Verse/Re Verse) gathers enough souls to open a gate.

Powers[]

  • Crystal Control - Otoma=Raga has crystals growing out of her arms and out of her head, akin to pigtails. She can use this crystalline material to warp her terrain, use them as projectiles, or extend them to use them as weapons.
  • Teleportation - Otoma=Raga has the ability to instantly teleport to another location.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability - When in dire straits, Otoma=Raga can power herself up, changing her crystals from blue to red, which allows her to hit a lot harder and endure more.
  • Levitation - Being a deity, Otoma=Raga floats around in place of walking.

Fighting Style[]

Otoma=Raga uses the crystals forming on her body to strike her opponent, and is able to transform them into battering rams, individual projectiles, waves, and even shields.

Music[]

  • Enforcement - The King of Fighters XV (Phase 1, Versus and Online Modes)
  • Absolute Denial - The King of Fighters XV (Phase 2)

Trivia[]

  • Otoma=Raga is the first and only female final boss in the history of The King of Fighters series.
    • Chizuru Kagura, Otoma=Raga and Re Verse are the only female bosses of their debut game, with Chizuru being boss in KOF 96 and the latter two being the bosses in KOF XV.
    • Overall, Otoma=Raga is the eleventh final boss in The King of Fighters main storyline.
    • Otoma=Raga's presence and role as a final boss in KOF is similar to the Samurai Shodown series, which has two female final bosses (Mizuki Rashojin {SS II} and Shizuka Gozen {SS 2019}).
    • Otoma=Raga is the only boss in the series who regenerates after being defeated, with her needing to be defeated twice in the same round.
    • She and Shizuka Gozen are the only final bosses in SNK games in which they regenerates after being defeated, with it being necessary to defeat them twice (although in Shizuka's case, she transforms into a second form).
  • Otoma=Raga is the only boss (and character) that doesn't have a voice actor/actress.
  • It is currently unknown why Otoma゠Raga's name in English is stylized with double-hyphens. Double-hyphens are primarily used for transliterated Japanese, used to represent hyphens (-) and to avoid confusion with the prolonged sound mark (ー). Ironically, Otoma゠Raga's name in Japanese uses an interpunct (・) instead.
