Musasabi no Mai (ムササビの
Description[]
Musasabi no Mai comes in 2 variations: a ground version, and an aerial version;
- "Springboard into the air."
- —Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
- "Follow-up technique performed via additional input during [Musasabi no Mai (Move)]. Useful for when you're in the mood for an aerial ambush."
- —Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
Mai bounds in a wide arc, aiming for a wall*. If she collides with the wall, holding the pressed button makes her kick off the wall, diving diagonally down head-first towards her opponent while holding a closed fan in her mouth.
In KOF 2002 UM, the jumping part of Musasabi no Mai gained other follow-up attacks as well as the main dive:
Attack | Description |
---|---|
- "A diagonal dive. Only available while in the air. Useful when you're in the mood for an aerial ambush."
- —Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
Mai kills her momentum by flipping backwards, then dives diagonally down head-first towards her opponent while holding a closed fan in her mouth.
In the CVS games and SF6, this is the only version available to Mai.Strategy[]
- "While airborne, diagonally descend with a powerful tackle. Useful for making surprise attacks or as a way to counterattack someone after dodging a projectile."
- —Street Fighter 6
Mai's far-reaching command jump. Depending on the game, Mai can either jump in any direction, or just jump behind her. If there is no wall nearby, Mai will just end up performing a jump. If there is a wall, Mai can either keep holding the button to perform Air Musasabi no Mai, or do nothing to drop slowly to the ground. While she's falling from the charge jump, Mai can perform an air normal, though she cannot do ,
, or supers. While there's no difference between the
and
versions, it does slightly affect the angles of the followup Air Musasabi no Mai.
It is also cancelable into Ukihane (in the games where the Command Move appears in) at any point.
The version has a hitbox on the jumping portion of the move which acts as a launcher.
