Trivia[]
- Marco is inspired in Brazilian karateka Francisco Alves Filho, a master of Kyokushin style and one of a few athletes to complete successfully the 100-man kumite test more than once.
- In International releases of Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Marco Rodrigues' name was changed to Khuhsnood Butt. Although the reason for this change is unknown, it is believed that his name was probably changed from "Marco Rodriguez" to avoid confusion with the real life mixed martial artist named Ricco Rodriguez.
- Rodrigues was always referred to as Khushnood Butt in the West until 2021, when SNK officially acknowledged him as Marco Rodrigues in the team story for Team Art of Fighting on the website for The King of Fighters XV.
- In the English version of their team ending, Takuma nearly refers to him as Khushnood before stopping himself and using Marco, referencing his rename.
- This was also the first time in which his name was spelled as "Rodrigues" instead of "Rodriguez", as the former spelling is much more common in Brazil, due to it being a Portuguese-speaking country, while "Rodriguez" is more common in Spanish-speaking ones. SNK made the same mistake with the character Bandeiras Hattori, whose first name was changed from "Banderas" for being a Spanish word instead of a Portuguese one, said mistake caused some outrage among the Brazilian fanbase.
- Rodrigues was always referred to as Khushnood Butt in the West until 2021, when SNK officially acknowledged him as Marco Rodrigues in the team story for Team Art of Fighting on the website for The King of Fighters XV.
- Creators have stated that he is the most durable fighter of the new cast.
- Marco and Tizoc were the only characters of the Fatal Fury series (and consequently from SNK) with different names in some world audiences. Starting from Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Marco adopts his Japanese name in all audiences.
- Only in MOTW, they even shared the same Japanese voice actor. Starting from CotW, Marco earns a new Japanese voice actor, and Tizoc remains with same Japanese voice actor since his debut.
- Since his introduction, Rodrigues created a great fuzz, with several fans wanting SNK to use him in The King of Fighters series or in the next Garou.
