Hon Fu (Japanese: ホンフゥ, Honfū; Chinese: 紅虎; Pinyin: Hóng Hǔ, lit. "Red Tiger") is a character introduced in Fatal Fury 3. His character is inspired by both Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan (Police Story). He has been voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa ever since his debut.

A Hong Kong detective who is always chasing criminals, Hon Fu is on a case concerning the mass illegal drug trade in Asia. He has a hunch that one of the biggest proprietors in his home country is Ryuji Yamazaki, and he follows the criminal to South Town. He continues to somehow lose sight of the criminal, which is a sort of running gag in the series.

Hon Fu is very goofy around everyone, especially around girls, but he is also a very serious cop. His natural clumsiness can be disastrous on the job, but his good humor usually makes up for it.

He is also on friendly terms with Kim Kaphwan as Hon Fu apparently introduced him to Myeng Swuk. They both share a strong sense of justice, though Hon Fu isn't as overzealous as his friend on the matter. For reasons unknown, Hon Fu is also scared of his comrade and will jump at the slightest mention of Kim's name. He is also one of Cheng Sinzan's friends as they admire their respective abilities in their fighting styles.

  • Fiery Weapon - He can put his weapon on fire without burning it or himself.

  • Nunchucks: Hon Fu has mastered the use of nunchaks to perfection, he is able to wield two nunchaks simultaneously.
  • Detective skills: Hon Fu has proficient detective skills due to his police training.
  • Acrobatics: Hon Fu is a very acrobatic fighter using it in his kung fu style of fighting.

Fighting StyleEdit

Hon Fu uses a Northern style of Kung Fu consisting of acrobatic maneuvers incorporated with the Nunchaku.
