Hizoku (河北省暗殺集団「飛賊」, Kahokushiyō Ansatsu Shiyūdan Hizoku), also known as the Flying Brigands, is a fictional guild of assassins in The King of Fighters series of fighting games. They are the main subject of the side story introduced in the NESTS saga.

Story

The Hizoku is a clan of assassins located in the Hebei Province, China. No one can enter their territory or leave it without given permission. They used to target the world's high society with unknown reasons. The clan was divided into four subgroups and the leaders of each subgroup are called The Four Devas (飛賊四天王, Hizoku Shiten Ou). The subgroups are the Dong Xie (Heretic of the East), Xi Du (Poison of the West), Nan Di (Emperor of the South) and Bei Gai (Beggar of the North). The leader of the whole clan was Ron, who was also the deva of the Xi Du, Chat was the deva of the Dong Xie, Luan was the deva of the Nan Di and Sai was the deva of the Bei Gai.

Ron had nine sons and a bastard daughter of whom he was ashamed of. She was Xiao Lon and was taken out of the royal family of the Hizoku. Ron wanted even more power and heard of NESTS, the crime syndicate that worked with genetics. Ron betrayed the Hizoku, killing almost everyone and joined NESTS. The three other Devas and Lin, a member of the Xi Du escaped and wanted revenge. They decided to tell what happened to Duo Lon, one of the sons of Ron and loyal to the Hizoku cause who was in Europe, executing a mission. Luan, Chat and Sai went to find Duo Lon, while Lin entered The King of Fighters 2000 tournament, which was being sponsored by NESTS, to search for Ron. He joined Benimaru Nikaido, Shingo Yabuki and Seth, but eventually lost. When the Zero Canon was firing energy beams at Southtown, Lin and his team was there and Lin got his leg stuck. Ron appeared with his face disfigured and was about to kill Lin when Benimaru attacked him from behind. Ron dodged the attack and disappeared.

The following year, Lin joined K', Maxima and Whip and made it to the finals. Lin found that Ron joined forces with Zero, Krizalid and Glaugan, Zero's pet lion. Lin and his team managed to defeat Zero, but Ron escaped. Meanwhile, Duo Lon met the three Devas and started searching for his father.

In 2003, Duo Lon joined forces with Ash Crimson and Shen Woo, hoping to find his father during the tournament. Duo Lon felt Ron's presence momentarily and disappeared. The following tournament, Ron gathered a small group of fighters and have been watching Sie Kensou and Bao, vessels of the Dragon Power. NESTS' Misty has joined Ron and even Lin joined him by reasons yet to be explained.
