Haito Kanakura (七坐 灰人, Kanakura Haito) is a character who appears only in Samurai Shodown: Warriors Rage. Fans believe he was modeled after Haiji Mibu (壬生灰児, Mibu Haiji) from the fighting game Fallen Angels and Yashiro Nanakase though developers have not commented on their similarities.
He is voiced by Tomohiro Nishimura.
Story[]
Haito is a drug addict who works around Ritenkyo's brothels as a free-lancer bodyguard and assassin. He experienced prejudice during his childhood due to the color of his skin and hair. One of the most prominent insults from this time was questioning the color of his blood (implying that he wasn't human). Because of their cruelty, he has a liking to the color red that develops to the point of obsession. In battle, he uses special drug pills made by Hyakuji, the pharmacist of Zegengai. These pills increase his strength and cause him to cough blood as a side effect - a condition he takes delight in as it proves his blood is red after all.
After his partner, Yaci, leaves the crime syndicate, Haito is told by Daruma to go to a "free land to the East" (believed to be America or mainland Japan). Before he leaves, however, he wants to settle the biased hatred he has for Tohma. In his ending, he seems to die from the side effects of the drugs.
Personality[]
He is a foul-mouthed youth who is indifferent to society and order. He hates to deal with people, quick to draw his blade and be done with them.
Powers[]
- Power up: After consuming a single drug pill, Haito's speed, reflexes and damage are increased.
- Super Speed: Haito can move himself at blinding speed for short distances.
- Fast Slashes: Haito can deliver several slashes almost at blinding speed and even faster while on drugs.
- Ultimate Strength: After consuming alot of drug pills, Haito gains super strength for short period of time.
Fighting Style[]
Haito fights mostly one handed, keeping his dominate hand on his weapon and his other hand near his bottle of drugs. He is a relatively close-ranged fighter who uses his speed to win the advantage in fights.
His fighting style is the base for Daruma.
