Crystal System is an arcade system released by BrezzaSoft in 2001, shortly after the SNK went bankrupt. It was announced was "Ultimate 2D Rendering Game Machine", poised to replace the Neo Geo MVS. Crystal System is a variation of the Zealer Board originally developed by a korean company called AD Chips. [1]
The main PCB is small (approx 6" square) and contains only a few components. All of the processing work is done by the "Magic Eyes VRender0", a large IC in the middle of the PCB.
At the technical level, the Crystal System is very refined, thanks to its processor, which combines the audio and video chips. Therefore, it is capable of producing beautiful 2D graphics, mixing sprites and pre-calculated images. Despite this, it was a failure and only two games were released.
