Description[]

Oswald turn-jumps forward with a playing card to slash with it outwards as he lands (while having his other hand crossed behind his back), hitting overhead and leaving a brief trail of other playing cards. Button version determines how far forward Oswald hops and how late the move hits.

This attack can be cancelled into either , or up to 3 times in any sequence, even on whiff or block. The Suit-cancelled-into-version of ♣ itself however, inflicts a hard knockdown.

The version leaps as far as the version but with a sooner hitbox, hits 3 times on its own and instead inflicts a ground bounce regardless if chained into from a Suit-move or not.

Like all Suit moves, ♣ can be done standalone or off of any normals/command normals, but cannot be chain-cancelled into off of any non- Suit moves.

Strategy[]

As his main overhead tool, Club helps supplement his lows and most of all, the oki/wake-up offense applied by J. This is further pushed with the fact that Oswald is likely not as easily punished from just landing a standalone Club, as he can merely Suit-chain into Spade, Diamond or Heart for an easy pressure extension or to further confirm for damage.

It is also one of the few moves that can chain off of the 10 on a standalone hit (chained-into version does not provide enough hitstun to have any version of Club properly combo into it), but only for the version.

The EX version of Club helps with and can start all sorts of juggles, though if trying to perform an elongated combo into an EX Heart, then the EX Spade if done too close maybe juggle too high with its 2 hits.

Trivia[]

  • In KOF XIV, Oswald slashes with an Ace of Clubs for the attack. Various cards of the Club suit also trail the slash as afterimages.
