427 Shiki Hikigane (

Description[]
Kyo attacks with a rising uppercut, via a style that is modeled after his father's 427 Shiki Kamukakari technique with the same Method number. It essentially replaces his standalone Kototsuki You in the NESTS saga games via the same input as both the Kamukakari and Kototsuki.
In 99 and in EX1, Kyo moves forward with his fists prepped and promptly throws a upwards-body-blow with his following fist, and finishes with a chin-aimed high uppercut his leading fist. The finishing uppercut is also used in the 99, EX1, 2002 UM and EX XIV/XV versions of the 182 Shiki. Button used determines the distance that Kyo moves forward at and the startup; has him weave under before throwing the first body blow, while
has him leap forward with bracing himself via his leading fist in front first. In 99, this move has no fire effects whatsoever.
Though as of 2000, the version has Kyo perform a short jump (akin to the old
version) that avoids low attacks as he ends in a flaming uppercut-body blow that launches for juggles, while the
version has Kyo stay in place via ducking away to dodge high attacks and performing a full-on-swinging uppercut that has a spin-out knockdown only on airborne hit.
Initially in XI, normal Kyo could perform the Hikigane off of either the 114 Shiki Aragami, or the
128 Shiki Konokizu (with its original HCB input, latter version is slower than before), while only EX Kyo could perform the original standalone version.
As of XIV however, Hikigane's Aragami version via only the version can be performed with just only a single kick button input, and instead follows-up from the 124 Shiki Munotsuchi bridge. Though the solo half-circle-back version of Hikigane from before is removed (including the prior
version) and replaced once more with his classic Kototsuki You.

Trivia[]
- In the Maximum Impact games, both Kyo versions can perform a unique version of the 2000-onwards
version Hikigane as a Stylish Art string finisher (as
+
・(
) x2).
- Both the Hikigane and 212 Shiki Kototsuki You not only share the same input of
+ Kick, but also have turned into Aragami followups in later games (both even performed as a 3rd input from a
-input-based bridge; from Yanosabi for Kototsuki You and from Munotsuchi for Hikigane).
- The Hikigane back in KOF XI was even an Aragami-based move, but only as either an Aragami or Konokizu finisher while being unable to perform it standalone for base Kyo (EX Kyo could still do so however).
